Teaching & Practicing Yoga

kundalini yoga london

My name is Claire and I'm a 400+hr qualified kundalini and vinyasa yoga teacher with a passion for watching people thrive through their yoga practice.

I originally trained with the amazing ‘Yoga on The Lane’ in London taking the 200hr Vinyasa Teacher Training. I really found my yoga feet teaching locally in Hackney, running my own community class for over 2 years. More recently I followed the growth in my personal practice and completed a 200hr Kundalini Research Institute, Level 1 Teacher Training with ‘Joy Studio’ in London and I’m so excited to bring this wonderful practice to people. I also use a range of healing modalities such as tapping, flower essences & essential oils. I aim to give people an embodied, rejuvenating, and grounding practice that helps to offset tension and stress. A large part of what I teach is mindfulness, breathwork and somatic awareness. Supporting students to find stillness and peace in their own body, using the rhthm of their own breath.

As a writer and creative, I love to work with individuals and small groups, mentoring people to access their innate wisdom and creative voice through a range of yogic and playful healing techniques.

My classes are all levels and I especially welcome beginners or those new to yoga. I also teach privately, in small groups, or at businesses as part of their wellness offering. Please contact me with any queries.

Traditionally, spiritual development practices were reserved for ascetics or those with vocations. Kundalini yoga offers effective and transformative practices that can be integrated into anyone’s life.

The Word ‘Kundalini’ refers to the serpent like, coiled energy that rests at the base of the spine. Kundalini as it is taught is a precision yogic technology using timed actions, known as ‘kriyas’. Each kriya is the coordinated use of mudra, mantra, breath-work and asana, woven together to create energetic shifts, replenishing specific elements of the human energy system. This is why we say Kundalini is the yoga of experience, you must experience it to genuinely know the feeling.

There are 1000’s of kriya’s and meditations to choose from. These are taught in sequence with pranayama and periods of rest usually over a 60 or 90 minute class.

Where there is a blockage (whether it is psychic, emotional or physical) excess energy can be released. Where there is a lack, energy can be directed and replenished. Kundalini practice is the ultimate holistic practice with each kriya or mediation working across several bodily systems – or energetic layers –elevating our entire vibration.

Regular practice of kundalini yoga and corresponding lifestyle changes can illicit remarkable physical, emotional, and spiritual shifts. This frequency upgrade leaves us with a calm nervous system, rational mind that knows its true identity and a balanced body.

Learning to manage our energy field will have increasing importance as we continue to navigate shifts in our evolution as a planet. Doing this with a sense of joy and grace is the kundalini way.

Great class with a great teacher. Her group at The BoilerHouse in Stoke Newington is a lovely way to spend Sunday morning.
